Our first ever Spotlight workshop in Central Europe in September 2010 was an outstanding success with 170 attendees and 16 exhibitors from Seychelles andAfrica.
We have had an enthusiastic reaction from the African airlines based in these cities who will support it wholeheartedly and will promote attendance to the agents and tour operators in the four countries.

Marketing Profile of the Three countries
Netherlands
The total long haul outbound market from Holland amounts to 1,6 million.Southern Africa and the rest of Africa continues to show a good growth pattern.
During 2010, 124 000 Dutch visitors came to South Africa making Netherlands the 3rd biggest tourism source market in Europe for South Africa.
During 2010 there were 32,768 Dutch,14,174 Belgian and 351 Luxembourg travellers to Kenya. An increase of more than 35% compared to 2009..
Despite the credit crunch,Long haul travel from Holland is still booming with key destinations being China,Thailand,Indonesia,USA,Canada and Australia. (India,Caribbean Islands and Brazil are becoming more popular).
Czech Republic and Poland are former communist countries whose economies are fast catching up with the rest of Europe. Compared to other parts of the EU (Spain,Greece,UK) they have been relatively unaffected by the global downturn. They have well educated and hardworking labour forces which are driving the upward economic trend. Their currencies (especially the Czech crown and the Polish zloty) have in the last five years witnessed up to 30% appreciation against the dollar and 20% against the euro, which has fuelled outbound tourism buying power. Their populations are hungry travelers,as overseas travel was barred to them in communist times. While the period 1990-2005 saw mass travel almost exclusively to short-haul markets, the expanding middle class has a growing appetite for exotic destinations.Africa and Indian Ocean Islands lag behind South East Asia, which has invested more in promoting its destinations to these markets
Prague (population 1.5 million)- The Czech Republic (population 10.5 million) has the strongest economy and highest GDP of the four countries. 20% of its exports are connected with the car industry, and so like Germany,it is enjoying healthy economic growth. Prague was recently described as the fifth richest city in Europe. The Czechs are a nation of passionate travellers, with a tradition of travelling to explore and discover, not just to relax. There is a considerable demand both for beach resorts, and for holidays offering safari, golf, wine and culture. There are a number of Africa specialist tour operators already in the market, and the Indian Ocean islands are already established beach destinations for the Czech upper-middle class. In 2010 3780 Czechs visited Kenya and for the first ten months of 2011 the figure shows a 51% increase!
Warsaw (population 2.6 million) Poland is an overlooked and under-exploited market. With a population of 39 million it is the sixth largest state in the EU (after Germany,France,UK,Italy and Spain). This makes it a huge potential market for outbound tourism. According to the CIA website,Poland was the least affected European country by the 2008-9 global crisis. With economic ills elsewhere many Poles are returning home from the UK,US and other EU states, which is boosting the economy. In 2009 Kenya received 5223 Polish visitors ,in 2010 9761 arrivals and already over the first ten months of 2011 there has been a 62% increase on 2010 to 13000 arrivals.
A number of other African countries are seeing a significant rise in arrivals from Poland.
South Africa received nearly 10,000 Polish visitors in 2010 and the SA Embassy predicts a substantial growth in 2011 and 2012
The main markets for outbound tourism are Warsaw,Katowic and Kracow.Warsaw has over 1200 Travel Agencies.
