The Harare workshops follow on from the Spotlight workshops in South Africa April 11-13 in order to allow Exhibitors from the Rest of Africa to do both workshops.
Following the overwhelming success of our two previous Spotlight workshop in Harare I am pleased to advise you that Houston Travel Marketing will be again be organising a Spotlight workshop in Harare on April 16th and 17th.
We will be arranging two workshop sessions.
On Monday 16th there will be a late afternoon session at Rainbow Towers Hotel Harare CBD especially for organizations located in the CBD and Western / Southern areas of Harare.
On Tuesday 17th there will be a morning session at Royal Harare Golf Club targeting the Northern / Eastern suburbs of Harare where most of the Agencies etc are located.
At the 2011 workshops 15 Exhibitors participated and we had 150 enthusiastic attendees.
Spotlight is being organized in conjunction with Tina Pigors of Co- Ordinating Zimbabwe –a very well known Zimbabwe marketing and representation company with offices in Harare andBulawayo.
Over the past decade,despite all the problems,there has been a significant volume of outbound corporate and leisure travel.
There are 65 IATA and 75 non IATA Travel Agencies in Harare so it will be an ideal opportunity for Airlines,International Tourist offices,Hotel groups and Tour operators to network with agents.
Kenya Airways has direct flights to Nairobi and this is a good opportunity for Kenyan Tour operators and Hotels to promote to this market. Emirates Airlines has also commenced flights to Harare.
Harare residents and expats do a great deal of travelling to neighbouring countries –Mozambique/Zambia/Botswana and South Africa.Mauritius is also a favourite destination.
Coordinating Zimbabwe will be distributing the invites to travel agents and tour operators and chasing up the RSVP’s .In particular they will be targeting Corporates and the Embassies,NGO’s and Government sectors to invite the Travel &Conference Co-ordinators to attend.
We will also be inviting Agents from Bulawayo,Mutare and other centres to attend as we think that the workshop will be of great interest to these Travel agents,as Zimbabwe is “starved” for Travel information and have very few workshops!
This workshop is not solely a Spotlight on Africa but a Spotlight on everywhere ….overseas,Africa,regional and domestic travel within Zimbabwe

HOW WILL THE WORKSHOP BE PROMOTED
I have appointed a Harare based company to hand deliver invitations and chase up registrations. Our Mailing List comprises 146 agencies,63 NGO and Embassy invites and 334 Corporate invites
Invitations will be sent using our specifically targeted databases to travel agencies (leisure and corporate),Inbound and Regional Tour Operators,and major Corporate Travel accounts,Embassies,NGO’s etc
Frequent reminders will be sent via fax mail,email and telephone follow-ups.
