Paradise & Wilderness welcomes guests back to Zanzibar!

Original Post: Paradise & Wilderness Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Tanzania and Zanzibar welcomes back the guests without restrictions to enjoy their holidays. The airports reopened on the 27th of May and our Resorts and Lodges re-open on 15th June.

I have been in Tanzania the entire lock-down period and we have seen a very controlled situation, while the citizens here understood very well what the risk was and all of them are serious in taking good precautions.
In the meantime, the whole team has been working hard and we are reopening the Resorts and Lodges as per Friday the 15th of June.

We opened our first Resort 10 years ago in Zanzibar and it has always been fully booked until half March this year, so there never had been time for a major renovation or upgrade.  But now the moment was right for all the Resorts and Lodges!  The staff has been working hard to make everything ready. The Beach-clubs are complete new build and are a big plus for the guest.

We are reopening our Resorts and Lodges in June with a maximum occupancy of 33% and July up to stabilization Covid-19 maximum 66% occupation.

What we did:
Zanzibar Bay Resort  (104 rooms)
  • brand new hotel, and now upgraded to a real 4* classification Resort
  • new “coco beach club”  including a la carte restaurant, beach bar, lounge and beach
  • upgrade of the infinity 1000sqm swimming pool and new terrazzo luxury walkways
  • restaurant, Bars, Lounges have been rebuilt in preparation of the “new future”
  • new swim and sundeck at the end of the Jetty, perfect for lovers of ocean swimming
Paradise Beach Resort  (74 rooms)
  • all rooms renovated, new walkways
  • sharing the new “coco beach club”  with Zanzibar bay Resort
  • Restaurant, Bars, Lounges have been rebuilt in preparation of the “new future”
  • New swim and sundeck at the end of the Jetty, perfect for lovers of ocean swimming
Reef & Beach Resort  (137 rooms)
  • after 2 years the extented resort section is almost READY.  Now just cleaning and little jobs over the next few days. With 66 new rooms, it will give finally you new booking opportunities.
  • biggest mangrove pool in the world with fantastic walkways through mangrove
  • new “mango beach club”  including a la carte restaurant, beach bar, lounge and beach
  • Restaurant, Bars, Lounges have been rebuilt in preparation of the “new future”

To coordinate and manage these resorts we have contracted new senior management employees and general managers.  Welcome to Lise, Sjoerd, and Stanley. Their task is to bring these resorts to the next level in standards.

I’m offering 315 resort rooms in Zanzibar, all with very good value for money.  The resorts were always 100% fully booked, but sadly we foresee that in the “new future” some tour operators will stop their operations.  I’m looking forward to collaborating with you even stronger than before and I’m willing to offer you very good conditions to “welcome back” the tourist.   For example till 30 June next year I will offer specials as Stay 7 nights = pay 5 nights (excluding Christmas period).  Please contact me and we make the best deals for Zanzibar.

If you have any plans for Charters and Groups we have the rooms over three different beach resorts divided what make it easy selling. Our price/quality is extremely competitive.

And don’t forget our Beach & Safari packages.  For you good to increase the revenue and for the guest the best Holiday package!  Guest love this package (2 resorts on a tropical island, local safari flight, game-drives in the biggest reserve from Africa, we do it all with daily departures).

Safaris are even more popular than ever before as tourists are looking for private holidays, and therefore take note of the 2 new Serengeti lodges.

  • Africa Safari Arusha lodge
  • Africa Safari Lake Manyara lodge
  • Africa Safari Serengeti 2x lodge and mobile camp
  • Africa Safari Lake Natron lodge
  • Africa Safari Selous game reserve lodge

We are offering the famous Safari round trip. Also here we offer you the “welcome back” free nights offer.

The new 5*  36-room Boutique Beach Resort is in progress, but as also my cash-flow is in lock-down we are continuing construction but will move the new opening date to 1 July 2021.

I’m following international health & safety programs and we are ready to welcome our guests back!

All of us are dedicated to offering you a safe safari experience

For example, our Safari Jeeps in Selous has a plastic screen between the driver and guest, and between the seats there is more than 1 1/2mtr distance to give you a comfortable feeling.

Our drivers and guides are wearing a facemask and gloves.

And meet and greet in the new Hakuna Matata way!

We do our best to give you a safe Beach holiday.

The resorts are built on big beach plots. Now you will relax  extra with “social distance”

But we did not forget the restaurants, bars, lounge jetty and swimming pools with the green gardens.  All are ready for the new future and waiting to welcome you back.
