CALLING ALL …. Rest of Africa Companies wanting to target the
South African Outbound Market to Africa & Indian Ocean Islands
Please note: Participation at this Roadshow is restricted to Hotels, Lodges, Beach Resorts, DMC’s from countries outside of South Africa.
The South African Outbound Leisure, Business Travel and MICE Market into the Rest of Africa is significant and the market is making a quick recovery post-Covid.
Many Exhibitors from African countries have been asking us to hold workshops in South Africa so they can target this valuable market.
Spotlight on Africa & Indian Ocean Islands will target the two most important outbound source cities in South Africa, Cape Town & Johannesburg.
Johannesburg & Gauteng Province accounts for approximately 60% of the outbound Market from South Africa. Most Travel Agents and Outbound Tour Operators are located in Johannesburg/Sandton and Pretoria. Many Regional Inbound Tour Operators, who also offer Southern & East Africa programmes for their international clients are based in Gauteng.
Cape Town & the Western Cape accounts for around 20% of International outbound travel. Airlines from 10 African countries currently fly to Cape Town as well as numerous Overseas carriers. A large number of Travel Agents and Incentive DMC’s are based in Cape Town.
As Cape Town is the No. 1 Inbound Tourism Destination for South Africa there are hundreds of South African Inbound Tour Operators based in the city. The majority of these operators also operate programmes to East & Southern Africa for their international clients.
September will be ideal timing to promote your December holidays programmes to the market.
