Spotlight season kicks off to a great start!!!

Lusaka2016-002The Spotlight on Africa 2016 season kicked off in a big way in Lusaka on February 08th.  31 exhibitors participated from Zimbabwe, Namibia , South Africa, Botswana ,Zambia, Zanzibar, Kenya  and Seychelles. 5 International airlines also exhibited.

Almost 100 travel trade from Lusaka and the Copperbelt towns attended the TravelExpo (as we call Spotlight in Lusaka).

Logo - TAAZWe are grateful for the support of TAAZ –the Travel Agents Association of Zambia for their support. Hamida Malik Chairperson of TAAZ speaking during Spotlight TravelExpo thanked Derek Houston for bringing the event to Zambia. She said that the Expo assisted travel consultants in learning about new products.

In particular she welcomed the international airlines and thanked them for coming up to Zambia to meet the agents. By doing this they could assess the potential of the Zambian outbound market.

The market is growing substantially with over 80 travel agencies in Zambia,  5 Zambian safari lodges from Kafue , Livingstone and Luangwa also joined the expo and were enthusiastic about the opportunity to brief the trade on developments and promote domestic tourism.

The Spotlight season continues with Gaborone on 16th and 17th February followed by Central Europe (Prague, Warsaw & Budapest ) after ITB in March. In April the Spotlight moves to Harare  and May and June to East africa Addis Ababa, Kampala and Nairobi.
