The Nordics countries together produced close to 100,000 visitors to South Africa.
Collectively the Nordics could be viewed as our 5th largest European source market.
South Africa is the Nordics 5th biggest long-haul outbound market –after USA, Thailand, Dubai and Canada.
Nordics travellers are big spenders –per capita Nordics travellers are amongst the highest spenders in the world. They spend 90% more on food & accommodation than other European tourists.
SATSA Member Houston Travel Marketing’s renowned Spotlight on Africa roadshows will again take place for the 10th time in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark from November 21-25 2016.
These roadshows offer Southern African Inbound operators, hotels and lodges an ideal opportunity to meet and negotiate with a large number of Nordic tour operators who sell programmes to African destinations. Previous Spotlight Nordics exhibitors have always been impressed with the quality of the attendees enabling them to meet with the decision makers of most of the major outbound operators in each country.
Due to our long association with the Nordics outbound tourism industry we always attract a wide range of African operators as well as specialist Incentive Travel companies who are eager to offer African programmes to their corporate clients.
Last year we attracted 140 Trade at three venues and this year we expect 180-200 as we are doing 4 cities (Helsinki, Stockholm , Oslo and Copenhagen). In addition this year we will be hosting important buyers from The Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) as well as trade from the Jutland area of Denmark to attend our Copenhagen session.
For the 2016 Nordics Roadshow 18 Exhibitors from Kenya,Tanzania, Zanzibar, Seychelles, Madagascar, Namibia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and South Africa have currently confirmed attendance.
“To ensure as wide as possible African representation we take a maximum of 4 companies per country “ explains Derek. At the moment therefore we have two tables still available for South Africans and tables are also open for lodges in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.
The full table cost for the 2016 Spotlight is Eur3200 per table plus accommodation of Eur685 for four nights. Two companies are allowed to share a table…..for example an airline and a tour operator or a Hotel and an operator.
